My husband and I are planning to move to move to Kentucky from Canada (my husband is from there). And I was looking at health insurance quotes for our family of 4. I had a heart attack, threw up in my mouth, and am finally able to type this out. All kidding aside, because I understand many Americans pay ridiculous amounts for health care, is $500 a month a pretty normal price for health coverage for a young non smoking family of four? And I understand if you’re lucky your work pays half of this? I have never heard of co-pays or co-insurance and am completely frazzled. Thank you for your help.
The most I have ever seen for a family for insurance is $400. However these days in the United States health insurance is so inflationary. Being from Canada maybe you should consider buying some medicination from Canada. It may be cheaper. Co-pays are the fee you pay when you go to see a doctor. If a doctor’s visit is $300 and the co-pay is $20, you pay the $20 and the health insurance picks up the rest.
